High Flying Lights is an immersive, synchronized light show created to bring joy and wonder to families during the most memorable times of the year. It runs across two seasons: a fun, whimsical, family-friendly Halloween display that begins in mid-September, and a magical Christmas show — more than 100,000 lights set to music — from November through the end of December.
The name is a playful nod to the aviation spirit of Aero Plantation, the fly-in neighborhood that inspired it. That's where the airplanes, the biplane artwork, and our four-legged co-pilot Pepper come from — a little imagination and a lot of lift.
But what makes the show special is the heart behind it. This isn't just about putting up lights; it's about lifting people up and giving the community a tradition to look forward to year after year. Every sequence is programmed by hand, and the display grows a little more every season.
The show is free to enjoy from your car, and it's built to be welcoming for all ages. If it brings your family some joy, we hope you'll consider paying it forward by supporting HOPE of Union County, the nonprofit close to our mission of bringing light to people in times of need.
